Please also add as part of the explanation for the recent spikes how your poorly designed study published in JAMA have contributed to the complacency amongst policy makers and change in behavior in the general public. If 20-50% of the general population has been infected in the fist wave as your paper in JAMA concluded, then how come there is an exponential spike in COVID cases? Shouldn't an infection rate of 25%-50% afforded some herd immunity as you have claimed in your study?

I see a lot of talk about super-spreaders and how contagion is power-law distributed. Could super-spreaders explain Rt's fluctuations and outbreaks in one region but not others? I tried to think of the answer but couldn't really wrap my head around the question
